Dr. Baylis was drafted in 2000 to the Ottawa 67’s, but declined in order to accept a scholarship to the NCAA Division 1 hockey program at Niagara University where he played from 2001 to 2005.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in biology from Niagara University he attended New York Chiropractic College. Upon completion of his second degree he was invited to tryout for the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League. He most recently played professionally in 2009 with the Columbus Cottonmouths prior to beginning his health care career in Ottawa. In addition to providing sports-based therapy, he is an on-ice instructor for Endeavour Sports Group.
Dr. Baylis’ life long passion for hockey has led him to specialize in prevention, recovery, and treatment for NHL players and other professional athletes. His efficiency and effectiveness comes from his ability to incorporate the right mixture of chiropractic adjustments, Active release technique, Functional Range Release, Shockwave treatment, medical acupuncture, Graston, Vestibular Rehabilitation and Kinesio-Tape. He focuses on the right treatment for the specific dysfunction.
Dr. Baylis has also been very involved in concussion management, treatment and baseline testing through ImPACT Canada, Shift concussion, and R2P concussion management programs. Using these protocols, and support with the IRIS optometrists, he has been treating some of the toughest concussion cases with great results.
